I've stopped buying and selling guitars until after I recover from my hip replacement surgery on Monday. However, this Custom built Richie Crowder ziricote dread was just completed and sent to me.

I apologize for the pic quality but I won't take my guitars outside during the winter in NE Michigan and there is little natural light today so they are what they are. I really like Richie's builds and have not yet been disappointed.

It has a solid Red Spruce top, solid ziricote back and sides, Gotoh tuning machines and scalloped Sitka Spruce bracings.

Here's a few crummy pics.

Beautiful, congrats! Every guitar I've played that had a ziricote body sounded great and I'm sure yours does, too. Enjoy and wishing you a speeding recovery!

That's so beautiful!! Wowza!! The wood on that is incredible. The top almost looks like Adirondack, is it?

On the hip surgery front, don't worry. I've had both hips replaced and compared to knees, hips are a piece of cake by comparison!! You'll be up and around pronto, my friend!! (y)(y)

That's beautiful! And good luck with the hip surgery - I'm sure you'll be shaking them like Elvis soon after!

Ziricote is a neat looking wood. Hope it sounds as good as it looks, Richard! And, of course, quick recovery!

That’s a looker Richard! How would you describe the sound? Hope you recover quickly from the surgery. I’m sure that new guitar will help!

To me anyway, the Ziricote sounds like a cross between a nice mahogany and a nice maple guitar. None of the muddy, boomy tone you can get on some RW guitars. Not quite as bright as a Maple (which is my fave) but really good clear upper end and nicely balanced on the lower and mid ranges. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love this one for quite some time

I have a lot more in the Crowder build schedule, mostly all of the exotic wood variety.

I'll post something tomorrow to disclose the Richie Crowder guitars I already have on hand and those on order as well. I likely overdid it (again) but I truly like his gear.

Wow ! That is pretty ! Congrats !
😊 I watched I nice interview on local news with him . At the time I think he was only making dreads but I’m not sure it’s been a while . He’s not far from where I camp . 😊
