Thanks to a very kind gesture on Walking Man's part, I now have my first Hoboken Guild: A 1961 F-40B. For a guitar that is only a few years younger than I am old, it is in fine shape, and certainly has fewer scars than I do. It joins another of Walking Man's herd, a D-35 that spent more than a year in the fevered hands of one of my nephews as a long term loaner because no teenage boy should be without a guitar. I have not had them both uncased at the same time, but when I do I expect the first glimmer of recognition will slowly swell to the comfort and ease with which old friends settle back into easy familiarity.
