Another sight unseen 3 a.m. purchase from GC.

I did receive the standard email confirming my order but no shipping announcement subsequent to that. Then I saw it back on the web page but it said sold out when I hit the link.

Well big deal...not a huge RW fan anyway but it would have been interesting to play a D55. I've owned an F50R..sold to txbumper, a D70..now w.Guardman and an F512..Balderdash.

Well I saw an email saying it was delivered. I'm up north in the ADK'S but figured I could swing by prior to leaving and throw it in the bed of the pickup inside the shipping box.

So me gets here and opens da box..

Expletives deleted!!!!

Pix can say it better...but this is a case queen. And I need time to get used to the neck but this is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played 20220722_160344.jpg

Incredible! Looks in great shape too bc.
I hear the D55 just sounds amazing and can be used across many different styles of music and playing. Got sone nice bling but never over the top.

Looks great, beecee.

Hey, I'm not sure if I'm seeing anything there, but have a close look at the nut. It looks a little strange in the pix. Otherwise, perfection!

I had one of the last ever produced in Westerly. It was beautiful. I don't often get jealous, but....... Enjoy!! Be careful because your cheeks might hurt from smiling so much.

beecee:
What a beauty and agree with others' endorsements. The Guild D55 can be out front in any band or group. Enjoy in good health.

Yup a little brittle lacquer and slight crack by the upper bout side as well. Lights not the best up here, possibly impact?? Looks like some did some shoddy work under that nut. The fretboard crack doesn't extend any farther than what you see. The nut does look like it's ready to shatter.

Opinions?

Oh and horrors...Upon closer examination there is a bit of a "stain", some brown discoloration on a tiny bit of the lower back binding.

But it sure sounds good.

More than likely though I'm confused by that red item under the nut.

Btw, it's a 96, not a 2000 as GC proclaimed.

Yeah. Ugh. Could be a shim under the nut, beecee, but yeah something is/was going on there. In any case, I hope it's just the binding, but I think you're getting a little fingerboard separation there from the neck. You should get this taken care of (stabilized) probably with a clamping and re-glue... Good luck, man.
