NGD, but not a Guild. Here's my Sadowsky Semi Hollow Archtop built in 2009. Transparent Black finish. OHSC.

Here's the specs:

15” body width at lower bout
1-¾” body depth
5 ply flame maple laminate construction
Chambered lightweight spruce center block
Mahogany neck, dovetail neck joint
Ebony fingerboard with 1-11/16” nut width, 24.75” scale length
Ebony pickguard (not installed)
Gotoh tuners with ebony tuner buttons
15 frets to the body
Pearloid position dots
Tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece
Ivoroid binding
Chrome hardware
Custom wound vintage PAF style Sadowsky Humbuckers (built by DiMarzio) pickups
Swamp ash or alder body chambered for enhanced resonance and light weight

This guitar has a Granadillo (Amazon rosewood) fretboard, vs the spec ebony fretboard. Also, Sadowsky does not attach their ebony pickguard unless requested by the buyer, and it was not attached by previous owner, so no holes there. Fine with me, I don’t want it on!

Some minor wear, a few minor scratches, some tarnish on the pup covers, etc., all dropped the price. And two other issues (discussed in another thread) that also dropped the price – I paid about 3/5 of the price of a new one. Only way I could justify it! The main thing is the guitar plays beautifully, electronics are perfect, feels great. The frets and fretboard look new. I’ve had it almost a week, I’ve been loving the feel of the neck and the great semi-hollow sound. I can definitely get some archtop sounds out of it, and it can definitely rock if you want it to. And I love the flame maple and finish color!

No need to try to figure out the year!

Here’s a screen shot from a video that shows the spruce “insert” used in the body to cut down on feedback, but keep the guitar lightweight. A lightweight guitar is a requirement for me - this guitar weighs 6 lbs.!

Congratulations, Walrus, on the new acquisition! I knew you were planning on getting the Sadowsky. She's a beauty, no doubt. And nicely think and lightweight. Play it in good health. (y)

Nice one, congrats! I know Sadowsky is well-known for his basses, but his guitars are great, too.

That is a special guitar. I've always liked electrics with just one tone & volume control. I know lot's of players prefer one for each pickup but it really cleans up the top with only two knobs, IMO. Enjoy!

You know, I was actually thinking about not showing my feet taking those photos, so I didn't end up in ruedi's "foot fetish" thread. That's actually pretty pathetic... 😳

That’s really a beautiful guitar. How do you like the position of the PU switch? I don’t think I’ve ever played a guitar with it in that location.

I like it fine . I had a PRS Hollowbody for a few years which has the switch in about the same spot. So I got used to it playing the PRS - at the time, it was a slight adjustment, I kept reaching for the upper bout for a while!

Come on, it's an honor if you "end up" there! ;)

No seriously, congrats on your NGD, stunningly beautiful! I didn't even know Sadowsky does guitars too - now I want one.

Beautiful guitar, walrus! I really like the smaller body dimension and the fact that it has a center block.

Thanks, all! I'm really enjoying it, played it for 3 hours today, had a blast!

It's sound and overall versatility actually reminds me a lot of the Bluesbirds I have had - with a slightly smaller neck (but still hefty), and certainly less weight!
