Welcome. Plus or minus a couple years anything between 1970 and 2000 would be a Westerly but we can tell you more than you want to know with a serial number and pictures :) At its peak Guild was making 25,000 instruments a year and a good number of them were D25's so you should abandon any hope that it is rare. We can discuss prices. You might consider whether you want the discussion in a thread that anyone on the internet can read or whether you want to have it where someone has to log in to LTG to read it. There is a thread where someone said that they thought D25 values were climbing. That has some general comments but I think it is still true that a D25 that sells for more than $600 is very special. But don't take my word for it - find and check out that thread :)

Welcome. I showed up here much the same way. Congrats on your D25. Mine also from 1971. They were made for 4-5 years before they went arched back, which are much more prevalent. You got a unique warm dark and cool dread voice there.

I also have a D-25 flat-back, a '71. A LOT of guitar for the money. I bought mine in basically the same shape as the one you describe. Had my luthier take off the busted bridge and carve a replacement. I have $625 total in the guitar, but it will definitely go toe to toe with my more expensive Guilds.

Welcome to LTG. Just to make sure, a 1971 one has a serial number between 50979 an 61463. Many people read the serial number chart wrongly.
