I ordered a concert ukulele as a gift for my adult son right before Christmas but due to the shipping fiasco at the time the uke did not arrive. As compensation the store owner offered to find me a better quality uke if I was willing to wait. I was waiting on my Newark St. X-175 at the time as well. Once the X-175 was in my hands I sort of forgot about the uke until Tony calls and says my uke is in. He also said he just got a shipment of new Guild Newark St. electrics. So I head across town to pick up the ukulele. At the store he has an Aristocrat, a Starfire, and a Savoy. Needless to say I've had my eye on the A-150. After a little demo time with the Savoy and checking out the uke Tony throws me a curve and offers me the A-150 for (price too low to show), out the door, no tax. I told him I already have too many guitars, and I just got the X-175 a few weeks ago. He offers to throw in a hard shell case for the uke. What can I say? He's already provided an upgrade on the uke. We dicker a little more and next thing I know I'm going home with a ukulele and a new Guild. I'm still kind of stupefied by the whole experience.

The A-150 is really awesome and has a definite retro look. The factory set up was great and came with an inspection certificate. One problem though: whoever took the protective foam piece out from under the bridge screwed up the intonation. Minor problem easily fixed.

Here are a few photos taken outside today in our record breaking heat (88°):

Now I don't know which one to play, the X-175 or the A-150. A little Summetime on the Savoy? Some John Lee Hooker on the X-175? It's all so confusing. Nah, just kidding yah. It's a blast.

Somewhere in archtop heaven,

That's gorgeous! Congrats on two new arch tops. I must admit to a bit of jealousy, I haven't even seen the NS guitars yet..
Enjoy!

You know I had thought too of getting the A-150 in natural but after seeing one and playing it here in Portland,Maine I really did fall in love with the sunburst being that the finish was such a beautiful almost translucent reddish-light brown. Naturally when I went back to get it the following day it was gone as I thought that nobody else besides myself would be interested in this guitar especially in this part of Maine AND especially in the middle of a major snowstorm...........wrong! Somebody had snagged it in less than 24 hours.............jim in Auburn,Maine
