Hello all, I just wanted to let you know that the hard cases that have been popping up on Reverb are REAL and made by Guild. I contacted them directly about this because of course it’s hard to find a case that fits T-Birds and Jetstars, and apparently they weren’t aware that it wasn’t up on their e-commerce store on the website. Sooooo, I got one.

Check it out, I’m not a super fan of the big logo on the front, but the case is really well made and fits these three models. The T-Bird fits perfectly, and it comes with a removable pad that can be used at the headstock end or closer to the horn to keep the Jetstar and S-100’s from slinging back and forth (since the T-Bird horn is about 2 inches longer). The body width for all is perfect. I hope these pictures help for reference, the pad fits under the Tbird neck when not in use since you won’t need it (the upper horn touches the accessories compartment so it fits very snuggly without movement!).

No more bass cases, spending a ton of cash for a used vintage case that almost never pops up, or trying to go to various music shops to find a fit. I highly recommend reaching out to them, they have a ton in stock.

Dylan

I concur. I purchased a couple of those cases to replace the flimsy (but original) chipboard cases for my '64 Polara and '64 Jet Star. They fit perfectly!

Thanks Dylan! Those are great pictures!
Interesting that they have a ton in stock and have not really advertised them at all... I'm also not a fan of that huge logo...
Now I wonder if they would fit a S-300... Would you mind taking those 3 measurements?

It is possible the S-300 is too wide for the new case, the horn might fit but I'm not sure...

Thank you for the report.

I find the like/dislike the logo interesting. On one hand many Americans will buy and wear "logo gear" showing their pride in the brand and their willingness to provide free advertising. So why not? But there have been reports that some thieves will choose a branded case (instead of a blank one) in hopes that the contents will be easier to fence.

Regardless, I do think there was a subtlety to Guild branded cases that has been abandoned with this one.

To me the little badge on the side is enough branding on guitar cases... But maybe younger people like the big logo.

I’ll check when I get home tomorrow evening, but my guess is that the S-300 is too wide as well. I tried to put my T-Bird in my S-300 case and it had about an inch of space on the side allowing it to slide around, and this new case is a tight fit for a T-Bird. I’ll circle back with ya!

The problem I have with the logo is that is another “new” font, and it says Guild Guitars Inc, which seems very corporate, certainly more so than anytime in the past. On Wikipedia they are listed as the Guild Guitar Company, so this just reads wrong to me, which is why I thought it was fake at first.

And yea I agree with both you and Ralf, the subtitle approach is a better way to go. The 90’s cases had a small G-Shield logo painted on the lower left corner of the case, and I do like the G-Shield logo badge close to the handle on the new one. That’s probably all they need, but the image below would be my choice if another logo has to go on the front. It would match the badge by the handle as well - consistency!

Good point! In the 1950's it was as real "Guild Guitars, Inc." and in the first half of the 60's the "Guild Musical Instruments Corp.".
But now it is only a brand under CMG, there is no "Guild Guitars, Inc.", so the logo is not appropriate for today...It's a phantasy logo...

Interesting! But yea, there is nothing harkening back to the 50’s here so again it’s a miss for me, much like the 50’s era truss rod covers they put on all of the reissue electrics that were designed in the 60’s and 70’s.

We are in luck!! An S-300 fits!! The padding inside the body compartment has about and inch of give to it, and if the removeable pad is placed by the headstock the guitar doesn’t move! There is a little wiggle but no worse than the original case. I would feel fine traveling with my S-300 no problem, and it’s much lighter than the original case with a more comfortable handle. Here are the dimensions.

Overall length 41’ (42 with inch of padding)
Headstock compartment (no added padding on edges) - length 11’, width 14’
Body compartment- Length 19’ (20’ with padding) width 13’ (14’ with padding).

Hope this helps. Plenty of headstock clearance underneath as well.

Info for Europeans: This "Guild Deluxe Electric Guitar Case for Polara, T-Bird, Jetstar" with MPN: 350-1075-241 is not in Guild inventory in Europe yet, but can be ordered by any Guild dealer in Europe. Guild is quoting up to 3 month leadtime from California to the store (they put in a lot of "safety margin" due to Covid and things...) The price here is Euro 149. I just ordered one. Lets see how long it will take.

Could you please supply a link to those cases? Thanks.
They are not yet on the Guild webpage, you have to contact Guild directly for them.
Or this company in National City/San Diego sells them, one or two LTG members got their case from them:

Pitbull Audio and Music Store Live are the same company:

The case seems to be pretty long compared to a normal Fender Stratocaster case for instance? Looking forward to my ordered one.

Thanks for that. I can get one directly from Cordoba at artist pricing, fortunately.

After almost 3 month (which was quoted to me) the case arrived today from Thomann. It came from Cordoba's European headquarters in the Netherlands via Thomann to me. For the EUR 149.- I paid I have to say it is a good case, not heavy, and the best - the S-300 fits! It's maybe not to advertise it as a perfect fit for the S-300 as the sides are close to the edge but still there is enough protection on both sides. So I totally agree to what you wrote about it. If I would have to ship one in that case it needs some additional support on the bottom left and right of the strap pin and also on the body to neck joint towards the two compartments in the case. All in all a perfect solution for me as my one never had a case. The case is about 2 inch longer compared to a Stratocaster case. (you see there is plenty of space North of the headstock).
