Just a plug for Robbie Robertson's new CD, "How to Become Clairvoyant". Very bluesy, great lyrics, great guitar work. Interestingly, I've never been a big fan of The Band, but I really like this CD a lot. Check it out!

I didn't know that. I remember buying some US stamps featuring musicians a few years back (Elvis, Muddy?). It must have been after they joined the celestial band.fronobulax said:Did I miss an obituary or does Canada honor living persons by portrayal on postage stamps? (The U.S. doesn't.)
The stamps will be issued June 30. On or after this date, you should be able to purchase them on the Canada Post website (it's the "Canadian Recording Artists" series)frailer5 said:Not a philatelist either, but I'll make an exception in that case. Post, if you would, when they are issued.
We're not too concerned with your religion here, Frailer. Welcome.frailer5 said:Not a philatelist either, but I'll make an exception in that case. Post, if you would, when they are issued.

So... we talking about a baptist who lives in Philly, and works for the phone company?

The stamps will be issued tomorrow, June 30. They come in a block of 4, with one stamp for each of the 4 featured artists (Robertson, Cockburn, Reno, McGarrigle).frailer5 said:Not a philatelist either, but I'll make an exception in that case. Post, if you would, when they are issued.
What do you celebrate on July 1 in Canada? Is Neil Young on a stamp? I don't know what goes on in Canada, although I love the place.NB- July 1 is a national holiday here. I'll be away, with no internet access until July 4.
It's Canada Day. On July 1 the original colonies amalgamated to form the country.idealassets said:What do you celebrate on July 1 in Canada?
