Hey Daryl,
Nice to hear that you know Buzzy & his reputation. You must've bought your guitar from him when he was up in Albany. He's down in Teaneck NJ now, right next door to me.

I will take pics of the sides tomorrow. I need daylight for that.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hey guys,The serial number is weird, because the last of the Hoboken 69s are numbered OC-223. Mine is OC-247. So was it begun in Hoboken, then finished up in Westerley? Is it 1970? Barbara

I was about to say that I would bet Hans would confirm that it was a '69, extending beyond the posted SNs... until I checked his book. Sidebar on p47 says the prefixed SNs (OC SNs for the 512s) used from 65-69 continued into '70, but no records were kept. They switched to the straight numbers (no prefix) at the end of '70. I'd still bet it was finished in Hoboken, tho'...

Hey guys,
I just got back from taking my Guilds to be appraised at Lark Street Music, which is a total resource in these parts (in case you know of him, Buzzy Levine is the owner & appraiser man). He is pretty sure it's Brazilian too, but was curious to know what you all thought as well.

Just to clarify, I bought my FIRST Guild 12 string, an F-312, in 1973. That was stolen. I found my current baby about 20 years ago in a pawn shop in NYC. The serial number is weird, because the last of the Hoboken 69s are numbered OC-223. Mine is OC-247. So was it begun in Hoboken, then finished up in Westerley? Is it 1970?

And then there's those Florentine inlays -- is it absolutely sure that Carlo Greco did them? I suppose I could ask him...he's here in NYC.

Thanks for putting up with all my photo mishaps!

Barbara

Jahn takes his Guilds to Carlo. He can give you the address. :D I'm sure Carlo could answer all your questions.

And, whatever you do, you don't want to get into the LTG BRAZ vs EIR "discussions"....
