At which point those Dobros and Nationals will cease to exist in the past, thus not be recognized as amazing so the companies will go out of business, and you’ll be stuck trying to sell unknown fakes in modern times.

Time travel is a bitch.
He didn't say he would buy all of them, just as many as he can fit into the Tardis. There'll probably be plenty left. Maybe those purchases would generate more interest and more purchases (as the music store owner recounts how some guy just came in and bought every one in the store) so even more people start buying them (and then the store owner is telling how demand is so high he can't keep them in stock), and the company has to increase production. Popularity skyrockets and they become the most sought after instruments in that time period.

I think it could go either way.

Edit: I knew the name sounded familiar so I just looked up the Tardis. Yeah, it could probably hold a lot.

I'm not greedy--and getting a sufficient amount of early money would be a bit of a chore, unless I used modern duplication methods to bring back counterfeit cash (which would be wrong!). I just would like to order a couple of custom instruments from the Dopyeras--think of the kick of meeting John 40 years before I first met him. And yes I chose the Tardis--the Rod Taylor Time Sled would hold perhaps a guitar and a couple of ukes--I'd like to throw the purchases in the rumble seat of:

A '31 Stude Four Seasons Roadster...which I would buy USED...

Telling about it changes the outcome? Are you sure?
In a previous life as a mystic I realized that everything we do is changing the future, every second. The future itself is changing as an infinite number of actions and moments continue to occur.

I visualize inflicting inquisition-quality tortures on food waste litterbugs in the neighborhood and sure enough one of 'em had a heart attack in their car the other night.

I've become reluctant to indulge my fantasies about cellphone dalliers at the traffic light, I might get stuck for hours.

Would you care to elaborate?
:) Y'know Cynthia, I don't know what it is but somehow I always feel comfortable confiding my dark side to you. I gotta admit sometimes I'm just fishing to get a rise out of you like a schoolboy, and you always take it in stride. Cool.

I trust you to know when I'm serious and when I'm cloaking my values in allegorical gory fantasies. It's what a writer does. :sneaky:

Meantime. Back to my current project investigating the potential to train crows to take chihuahuas. I can think of no other earthly use for either of 'em.

After all the chihuahuas are taken care of, what would be the next step for your trained murder of crows?

And do we get to hear tales of your life as a mystic, or would that alter the future?

Great question! Lemme think about that a minute. Ahhhh...stimulate expression of their cannibal gene? Cannibal Crows.

And do we get to hear tales of your life as a mystic, or would that alter the future?
Indubitably, but more important, it might alter your mind. That's a responsibility not to be taken lightly.

(This is, after all, a digital forum and some of 'em're getting kind of notorious for that.)

Meantime:
For you I visualize a nice vintage Guild maybe an F30 or an F40. Maybe even an F20. You will have joy periodically realizing anew just how wonderful are the noises it makes.

Cats and dogs will lie at your feet when you play and express their appreciation. Do not be distracted. It is zen.

Practice more. It will change the future.

there are always 2-3 westerly collection guilds at the GC near me. and decent prices too. but they all sound poor in comparison to my true westerlies. there is no real sonic comparison at all. imho of course. and for the price listed, i can at least get a D4 or D25 on reverb...

Same feeling here Woody with one exception. It seems to me that the GAD models really sound very good, much better IMHO than the current import lineup from Guild.
