Welcome Toni from snowy Canada....we just caught the tail end of the storm that went through Texas...It has tamed down some for us but the east coast is in for it now.
Nice guitar! I love the sound of mahogany.
Enjoy! :D[/q

12stringer,

Snowy Canada, my goodness. Canadians are used to bundling up. Texans aren't. :) Heck, most of us don't even own a "real" winter coat. :)

Yep, I think mahogany is the best for a warm sound.

Thanks for the welcome,

Toni

Hi Tony, from The Winter Wonderland (Michigan) and the City of Flat Rock. LTG is full of a bunch of crazy Guild Guitar owners, and I resemble that comment !

Tim (frettedstrings),

Thank you for the welcome from Flat Rock, Michigan. Now, just where is that on the "mitten"? ::::teehee::::: I was born and raised in Indiana, and I know Michigan quite well. Especially, the mosquitoes the size of small helicopters during the summer. :)

I resemble the crazy part, too.

Guilded greetings Toni,

Another warm welcome from the Great Pacific Northwest.
I'm about 100 miles north of Seattle and so close to Canada that I list Canuckistani as my second language.
You'll have more fun here than you can imagine, so hang on!

I must say, as a casual aside, that there's nothing like a lady to bring out the LTG welcome mat. I can't remember another post that received so many responses so quickly. We must be starved for another lady picker in the band!

Stay in tune,
Joe

Joe,

I think being bi-lingual is pretty great. Canuckistani, you say! Wow....that's kinda tri-lingual, huh?

Naw, you ain't starved for a lady picker. I think it must be the lady with an original 1973 D25 archback all mahogany thing. :) Although, I do great harmonizing and back-up. All lead guitarist would never have to worry about me as competition. Just a strummer and picker here.

All kidding aside, thanks to all for the welcoming posts. Sorta overwhelming in a very nice way. Thanks to Everyone,

Toni

I wonder how many all mahogany, archback D25s were made? That would be something to know, huh?
Thanks for the welcome,
Toni
WE wish the info was in "The Guild Guitar Book", written by our fellow member/mentor/overall arbiter of all things Guild debated here, Hans Moust. Alas, it is not there. This leads me to believe even he is not sure. And he's got every record from Westerly he could get his hands on.
Just to give you the facts as we know them now.
I'm bettin' it's less than 500. Even less than 300. And of course, even fewer survivors.
I'm hoping Hans might see this and at least revise my guess with his more thoroughly researched insights. )

adorshki,

Wow! Amazing! I knew there weren't many of the AM/AB D25s, but I had NO idea there were so few. Looking forward to hearing from Hans, too. :D

Thanks so much for getting back with the information,

Toni

Hi Toni, and welcome from Michigan! Big snow yesterday, still digging out.

Welcome to the D-25 club as well, sounds like you've got a beauty there. My '76 is a spruce top and it really rings, especially in the lower register. I've never played an all-hog archback, but it's just gotta be sweet.

Photos, photos!

dreadnut, good morning to you in Michigan. And, thanks for the welcome.

You know, I was thinking yesterday after learning that I have sort of a unique D25, I should take some photos. Which I will do. Gonna do some polishin' first. :)
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Toni, West R Lee here from the East Texas piney woods. We'll be down there in a couple of months to meet with other members of LTG........Fredericksburg and Canyon Lake more than likely. Maybe we can all meet for a little jam session.

Good to have you here young lady,

West

Wow, young lady, West R Lee! You've made my day!

Yep, the East Texas piney woods - know the area well. I'm a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Fredericksburg. Please keep me posted on any jam sessions--would love to get together with fellow LTG members.

Toni

Welcome to LTG

My wife and I will be there with West and Sratch and hopefull RussD in F Burg in April. Taking in Lukenbach again as well. Might be very kewl to get on stage there for a jam.

If you're interested in a get together of the LTG kind, send one of us a PM and we'll keep you in the loop.

Howdy Toni,
Great having another Tejas Hill Country LTGer. I've been off the air, so to speak, for a day or so welcoming our second grandbaby to the world. Just now saw your intro... welcome aboard...

I live on the north side of Canyon Lake; approximately 40 minutes or so from Fredricksburg. We transplanted here from the NE side of San Antonio (Schertz) five years ago. I gig occasionally at Ninfa's Restaurant, also on the lake's north side. Do you gig/sing?

Also awaiting this evening's snow and granddaughter #1 is about to jump out of her skin with anticipation. As Graham and West mentioned, we are planning hill country get-together #2 in April and it would be great to meet you.

PM heading your way...

Graham,

Thanks for the welcome.

My goodness, it is a small world. I'm 23 miles from Luckenbach - go there quite often. Please keep me in the loop about a get together.

I'm coordinating a jam session in San Antonio on Saturday, February 26th from 4-7pm (venue still be researched) for the Acoustic Guitar Forum (AGF). Let me know, and I'll keep you posted, as well. :)
