Next is my other Starfire, a '74 SF-VI. I haven't ever seen another mahogany one. This one's also pretty clean, aside from a little dulling of the parts' finish. Neck is maple, BTW.

Hello Colin,

Welcome to the forum. Nice Starfire VI you have. Most of the mahogany Starfire VIs I've seen were from the '60s. Here's a photo of the Cherry finished one I had some time ago. It was a 1973 model.

That's a neat SF-VI. Looks like it has the same sort of inlay as mine. Guild must have gotten a batch of yellow Abalone around that time. Did your not have the inlaid fretboard binding?

An aside, I must give you partial credit for me owning a SF-VI. I'd onyl ever seen IVs and Vs and didn't know VIs existed until I got your book in the mid 90s. Put a want ad out on the net (pre-ebay) and ended up w/ mine! BTW, fabulous book! Did you ever end up making a Part II?

Wow. Someone who knew about The Book before they found LTG. That's somewhat unusual. Hans says he is working on part II although he has resisted all attempts to pry an expected completion date out of him. Personally, I'd like to see him complete it in time for one of his annual visits to the US so that he can go on a book signing tour :) but I won't ask him which year that might be.
