Any thoughts on the Fender Custom Acoustics that came out of the New Hartford shop? There were a couple of Master Designed builds.

I think it was Paul (PEZ) who got at least one of those, not sure. I don't think I've heard of anyone else around here who has one, James.

Of course, I remember seeing some of them being built at one of two of our LMG events, but I know I never played one.

I think you are right Richard, I believe Sandy picked one up a few months back. I think he even said the underside of the top was signed and dated by Jason MacIntyre just like the Orpheums were.

I just picked up the Dreadnaught 12 string that's been on Reverb and it's getting shipped tomorrow.

Carpathian top, rosewood back and sides, scalloped quarter sawn red spruce braces....

Thanks TX. I've listened to that clip over the last month and liked the sound. Not sure if I want to add any electronics since the guitar doesn't have any at this point.

I wouldn't add anything that involved drilling a hole, because:
Fender acoustics in general "don't get no respeck", but I think those have the potential to appreciate in future as "the ones they finally got right".
But I think any irreversible mods would be a heavy knock on value.

Al, it's an American made Fender guitar. It's not gonna skyrocket in value. If he needs a p/u in it, he should put one in. It's not like these are Relic Martins or anything, jeeze. It's a really, REALLY beautiful guitar, James. I love the purfling!! I'd be happy to own one if it sounded great. if you need a p/u... put one in. No one's going to retire off of this guitar in our lifetimes........ :stupid:

I did, and it was TX!

It really was a great guitar, but I ended up returning it because I couldn't get comfortable with the narrow nut and neck profile. You can buy them for next to nothing (like this one) relative to their original MSRP if you're interested.
