I have been given two new guitar books from colleagues who happen to know I like guitars, both of which have some Guild content in them. The first is The Guitar Collection: Stories, by Alan Di Perna, Michael Molenda and Art Thompson, which mentions the Guild Merle Travis, the F-30NT Special played by Paul Simon and the S-200 Thunderbird played by Muddy Waters.
The other is Guitars Illustrated by Terry Burrows. The book has the added bonus of five full-color posters chronicling the Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Martin and Rickenbacker "family trees." Guild contend is limited to two pages, on the F Series and the Duane Eddy DE-500.
I haven't pulled out the "family tree" posters yet, but other brands have smaller "family tree" diagrams within the book, like this one for Ovation. The photo isn't clear enough to read, but it gives you some idea of what's in there.
