Both of these guitars look great but in the uk they are hard to find and need to travel a long way, price wise ive seen a new f47 as above for well under a 1000 dollars less than a D55 so thats a lot of difference, its a one off price as generally as in USA they are a lot closer, anyway i am only a strummer learning to fingerpick a little and just enjoying and trying to improve on guitar and making some progression at long last as now retired, not worried about depreciation, just like the idea of the F47 with deeper body, like most 60s on songwriters with dreads too - Like the idea of slightly smaller guitar as it may be good to have and handle, they tell me some fretboards on Guilds are a little narrow? Any experience or thoughts on the new guilds appreciated. Just looking to enjoy life and have some fun .

I bought my son an F4ce which is a little narrower for, sure, that was a black late 80,s guitar, which found its way back to the states, where he lives now and is looking to change that for a dreadnaught as he is more the strummer too.

Regards to you all.

My recently-acquired (from forum member mikemo6string) 2007 Tacoma-built F-47R is well on its way to becoming my #1, replacing my DV-6 as the one I reach for first. It is not quite as loud as the DV-6, is as harmonically complex and rich-sounding as the DV-6, and the smaller size is certainly more comfortable, particularly when playing for extended periods of time.
