Got a chance to hook it up to ye olde vintage vox too. No dialing out the mids with this, you gotta embrace the quack. Takes on a funky character that makes you want to bust out the flanger and phaser too!

I like humbuckers on the "semi solid" block models and the later solid body M75's. I would really like a set of DeArmonds on the hollow body version of the M75 Bluesbird! I suspect that may be the setup best suited to my taste! Anyone ever see a stock version of the M75 with DeA pups?

I would say that's one of my ideal setups too. I've forever been on the hunt for a beat M65 superstructure to outfit with the Dearmonds I have in my spares box. An example like Jahn's guitar is up there, too.

Great rig! I bet it sounds fantastic! My favorite setup of all my gear is my '76 M-75 Bluesbird with HB-1s through my early 90s Korg-era AC-15. Just magic!

What year is your AC30, Jahn?

Also, how do you use that Brown Box? Is that the pedal where you can change voltages?

Thanks, I love this rig, it’s a 1964 Vox AC30 Bass with Top Boost module, and the Brown box is fed a steady 120v by the fishman power conditioner under the pedalboard, and the brown box lowers it to 110v which is what this old Vox likes to see. Less stress on the amp, and it’s nice to hear it like it was spec’d back in the day.

Dearmonds are definitely special, but something about those mini HB-1 pickups have that exact Guild tone that I love!

Any soundfiles from both of you?
Yeah, I have to too. However, not only did I slice off cut the tip of my left index finger making Szechuan fish, but I don't have a recording setup right now. My ancient laptop with the older Firewire inputs that matched my interface died. Gotta get a new interface.

Speaking of prices, I came across one that was only one serial number away from mine and black as well, but with nickel hardware and man it went through the ringer and was priced higher for sure!

Gotta love Reverb's note on this guitar, "some signs of wear..." :ROFLMAO: Slight hyperbole there!!!
