Now that I'm in front of a computer I can post a photo of my '66.

I think the T100 with Mickeys is a great, versatile combination. To talk a little brand identity trash, it's like a Gretsch Tenneseean without the Bigsby and binding rot. (But I like Gretsches too.)

i think of it as similar to a clipper in gretsch and es-125 in gibby

I had one from about that time for a few years in the 70s. Wouldn't mind getting another one, Good luck and enjoy it.

Yeah, certainly the body is essentially the same thing as the ES 125 TC. I think of the Mickeys as being closer to a chimey HiLo Tron, being a little lighter in the mids, than to a P90 that wants to growl.

I imagine they might be comparable to an Epi New York single coil too but that's just speculation on my part.

I have an ES-125T, and the pickups do sound different, especially the bridge. It’s hard to describe, but the neck is round, robust, but bright and deep. The bridge is quick, trebly, and bright. The ES125 may be a bit darker, but still meaty sounding, so far much tamer regarding feedback. Of course, my perception may change as I bond with the T100. :)

VERY very nice, Ixtlan. That's what I call making an entrance! :). Welcome to LTG, and enjoy that beautiful arch-top!

We're bonding and she sounds great! Love switching between the neck and bridge pickups. It can get howling with some overdrive from amp or stomp boxes but a warm drive with treble turned down on the neck pickup is the way to go (for now!)🕶️

Finally I see one with similar tuners. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265822069152

Not much like mine out there....
They are somewhat similar, but not the original ones! You can still see the foot-print of the original tuners!

The covered ones you have on your T-100D were used during the second half of the '60s on several different models, but the majority of T-100(D)s from that particular period have the open gear type.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

I also recently bought a slim low profile wood bridge. I was able to lower the action down a bit. Due to the angle of the neck attaching to the body, there is not much else to do since the neck was already straight and aligned. (compared with the angle of a 335 or other model).

Very nice, and super clean! I have a 66. If you bond with it even 1/10th as much as I did mine, you'll love it! These particular guitars can change the way you play! If you're keen to plug in and crank it up, you'll soon find you have a formidable beast in your hands that requires taming!! 🤠 That's the really fun part!

So happy to share with you! I wasn't planning on buying it - but when I played it and heard it .... you know how it goes :)

Seriously though, when plugged in and turned up a bit, I liken my t-100d to an old vw bug.....uniquely temperamental where only it's owner knows how to drive it w/ ease. I use my body and forearm to help control feedback, and if I want to hold a note and let her sing, I just lean forward and let the guitar hang free a bit. It's a delicate affair, but oh, so rewarding in the gorgeous sounds these guitars can produce. I would highly recommend a low wattage combo tube amp to compliment it.(y)
