Just a quick update after 2 months of ownership.
I was happy as soon as I took delivery but I have to say I get happier everyday. I've carried out a few tweaks; lowered the nut slots on G B and E strings by a whisker, lowered the saddle to get a low 5/64ths to high 4/64ths at the 12th, fitted a K & K PWM, fitted a strap button, recorded loads of stuff acoustically DI'd and MIC'd up, played it out live and put a nice dent on the front lower bout : (I really feel at home with this guitar, it's perfectly balanced on a strap, rarely goes out of tune and makes me smile everytime I look at it or pick it up. Is it possible that it's getting used to me as well? At first when playing open D chords the B string would sound a little sharp (it's that major third thing) but that really seems to have gone away, maybe that was the nut work? The skinny vintage frets are taking a hammering already up to fret 7, so it will be interesting to see how long it is before any fret levelling is needed, I'm sure we'll have fun getting to the point where it's needed though!!!
My band and I did some quality recording yesterday, as soon as we've overdubbed a few bits (fiddle and harmonica mainly) and mixed it I'll post a link. I'll make sure the DV6 is way up in the mix!!!
