Thanks for all the nice comments, this is such a friendly place!
I came here for guitar talk, but love to read about and see pictures of your dogs or cats or horses or birds or ...
Since some of you asked: (Wilma is asleep, so now I have time to write)
The Danish-Swedish farm dog is, as you might guess, a breed that used to be common on farms in Denmark and southern Sweden.
They are relatively small, typically 30-35cm shoulder height and around 10kg.
Traditionally they were working dogs, used as guard dogs and rat catchers, to herd animals and be family companions.
The situation with Bella the cat is still a bit tense.
Not real aggression, they just don't quite understand each other yet.
Bella is old and likes peace and quiet, but Wilma insists on trying to play with her.
When she gets no response from the cat, Wilma will start yelling and jumping around, then Bella gets annoyed and tries to chase the noisy troublemaker away, and that of course makes Wilma even more excited.
We had no specific plans for Wilma other than to be a family member and to accompany me on hiking trips in the mountains and forests, but after getting to know her we have started thinking.
She learns so fast, and has this attitude of "Hey, I want to DO something. Show me, teach me, I will do it!"
Of course, the flip side of that is "I'm bored! You didn't give me anything to do so I'll just go and chew on something valuable."
We will need something to keep that head busy.
