'deed it does, Reeves.
Interesting . Tnx for sharing @chazmo. In both they're scalloped but looks like they used different shaving pattern for Oxnard vs Tacoma . Also Tacoma feels a bit beefier. Do you know if it Adi in yours ? (btw , I re-uploaded the img's of my bracing in original post)Tacoma-era (2006) F-512 top brace pictures.
I'm not certain at all whether the braces in my Tacoma F-512 were red (Adi) spruce or not. I should know that, but I don't! I am certain that New Hartford used red spruce braces though. And, speaking of New Hartford....Interesting . Tnx for sharing @chazmo. In both they're scalloped but looks like they used different shaving pattern for Oxnard vs Tacoma . Oh, my, Yura. Radically different bracing going on in your Oxnard vs. my Tacoma F-512. Different shaping, different "peaking," different scalloping, and only two belly braces in yours... I'm kind of shocked. In both they're scalloped but looks like they used different shaving pattern for Oxnard vs Tacoma . Also Tacoma feels a bit beefier.
Very different indeed ! so many different ways to do it . Have you had a chance to play anything from Oxnard yet ? and if so , how do you like it ?I'm not certain at all whether the braces in my Tacoma F-512 were red (Adi) spruce or not. This will probably not help at all with the comparisons of F-512 bracing through the modern years, but here's a look at the bracing of a 2010 F-212XL Standard. Radically different than the F-512! Note, especially, the use of 2 rather than 3 braces below the bridge. I thought all Guild's 12-strings had 3 braces across the belly. Anyway, I'm only putting it here to show how much things (may) have changed!!!!
)) it feels also much lighter (both F-512 and F-55) Oxnard vs couple NH's and Westerly I triedOh, my, Yura. Radically different bracing going on in your Oxnard vs. my Tacoma F-512. No I haven't, Yura. I look forward to it one day!!!Very different indeed ! so many different ways to do it . Have you had a chance to play anything from Oxnard yet ? and if so , how do you like it ?
Nor do either my jumbo prototype or OM 14 fret mahogany. My Orpheum 12-D does not have pyramid bracing.
As does my 2016 M40.
Can someone get a good picture of the new brace that started this discussion (I've been calling it a pyramid, but I suspect it's just peaked like the ones on the treble part of the soundboard...
Nice !Well, we know where Ren worked before coming to Guild, and that little pyramid brace has been seen on Gibson jumbos for a long time. This is my 2000 J-100xt w/strings & saddle off for a bit of tweaking:
