I‘m really looking forward to this. Never saw a connection between Marley and Guild.

I'm not a Bob Marley fan per se, but I respect him and his work, etc. But that said, I think this a totally inspired idea from Guild. And way cooler than the aforementioned Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift models. Bob wrote great songs and had a profound effect on music. Taylor and Ed, regardless of what you think of their work, are testaments to everything that is wrong with music. Writing for the sake of hits instead of writing for the sake of making something great. Bob had vision, which he cultivated. Ed and Taylor have images which they and their corporate overlords cultivate for obscene profit.

Now I'm hoping for a David Byrne model . . . but I'm not sure Byrne would go a long with it.

Just correcting spelling, eh? No offence intended, but shouldn't it be rei$$ue? ;)

The Marley family/estate has sold Bob's name for use on a wide variety of merchandise.

That might be the reason why we have never seen a John Denver commemorative guitar from Guild. It might be moot as too much time may have passed even to consider one.

As for Taylor's JD commemorative models, I was never a fan of them. The aesthetics of those models left me wanting. However, Taylor struck while the iron has hot, so I have to give them credit in that respect.

Personally, I hope the guitar is a cosmetic/stylistic tilt of the hat to Marley's A-20 but with Guild/Cordoba build quality, a better guitar than the original.

I have never been impressed with any of the dozen or so Madeiras I have had in my hands in pawn and used shops. Some were unplayable. Most had intonation problems of varying degrees. Perhaps that why they were sold. As with all offshore made guitars of that era, there are probably good ones among the dreck. I have just never played one.

O.k., here we go:

Check out the headstock and TRC shape. Madeira correct. I have to say, very nice!

Guild script logo used (instead of "madeira"). But they used the script from old Madeira advertisings:

Little golden "m" on TRC. His original guitar had the same "m" on the TRC, just in white:

Correct pickguard shape, correct rosette, correct bridge shape. (and good they didn't try copying the adjustable one...)

Solid Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, scalloped X pattern bracing, Pau Ferro fretboard and bridge, bone saddle and nut.
Nut width 1 3/4" (44.5mm)
Satin-smooth matte Natural finish.

Comes with a nice looking gig bag made from recycled nylon.

And a poster and a little booklet with the history of the original guitar and how the replica was made. The booklet also boasts official chord sheets to three of Marley’s most-loved hits – yes, Three Little Birds is among them.

And some Marley picks:

For every sold A-20 guitar Guild will plant a new tree in partnership with One Tree Planted.

As part of the collaboration, Guild has announced its support for the Alpha School of Music in Marley's hometown of Kingston by donating instruments to its music program.

The price in the US is $ 399 ($555 MSRP), in Europe € 399 and in the UK £359.

Quite a package for that price!

EDIT: Finally also on the Guild webpage:

Got the notice from Guild this AM. For that price they should sell a ton, many I bet to collectors or non-players to display.

For every built A-20 guitar Guild will plant a new tree in partnership with One Tree.

Nice. A certain other type of plant would also be considered acceptable; Bob would surely have approved.
I was expecting this to be at a much higher price point. Beautiful guitar, beautiful package. Tasteful and comprehensive without being pretentious or cliché. This looks like a home run.
Want!

Did the Madeira A-20 have a solid or laminated spruce top?

No one brass bridge pin and the rest black? Seriously though, this looks nice. Definitely cheaper than I was expecting it to be.

I guess that's an easy upgrade die-hard fans can do!

Usually the specs would have shown "solid", which they did not for the Madeira A-20:

So the Guild A-20 is an upgrade with that regard.

Still haven't gotten my first Guild yet, but this may be the one! It has a great look to it, and looks to be one that I will be able to play quite a bit and get some great music from it!
