Did my first string change on the D-25 today (last one was done in the shop). The pins in the bridge were/are original and over the years have taken on some "interesting" shapes. I happened to have an extra set of pins (tusq) that were supposed to into another guitar, but I never got around to putting in. I dropped them in, and they were a perfect fit. Can't tell if it makes a bit of difference sound wise....because hey, fresh strings, but the look is nice.

Yeah that’s always funny. I’ve got a sandwich baggie full of early plastic Guild bridge pins that are bent, look like tiny bananas. They always have that reddish ring around them, I guess staining from the rosewood bridge. The dark pins look great I have a few with them also.

I've seen torn up pins before, but I've never seen them bend and twist quite that way before.

Those look like the pins in my '77 D-55. I should probably get some new ones.
