Howdy everyone, I picked up a nice 1998 Guild F30E and it looks like I need to get the nut replaced. The high E string is to close to the end of the fret and if you are not super careful it will slide off the end of the fret and kill the string. problem is..... I live in Victoria, Texas and there is no one here that does repairs. So does anyone know of someone here in south central Texas that I can ship or take the Guild to for the repair.

Thanks in advance
Bill

Yes, there are two great luthiers in the area...

One is a friend of mine, met him through a life long friend. He's fairly new to this area, about a year now. Has and incredible reputation up and down the east coast and has guitars shipped to him from Europe for his exclusive repair work. He does most of his work in his home shop but subs out of Guitar Tex in San Antonio. If you choose him I'm absolutely sure you'll be extremely happy.

You're also going to get responses about Ross, another luthier with an outstanding reputation. I don't konw Ross nor have I used him but I understand he's and excellent luthier and has a history with Guild guitars. I'm not sure when he's located but my guess is he's close to the NE side of San Antonio. I'm sure someone here will be able to give you contact info if you choose Ross.

Thanks for the great info JimBetts. Do you have any contact info on your friend, or will I need to go thru Guitar Tex?

Thanks again
Bill
