Yup, that's a Corona serial number. The branded number on the headstock should match.

I don't have the decoder ring, but I think that era places it somewhere from 2001 through (some of) 2005.

There is no decoder ring, only Hans' records, BUT:
First Corona model year is '02 through '04 (Corona was actually shut down during '04)
(I suspect it's possible some flattops got built in very late '01, but I don't recall ever seeing Hans confirm that, only that some "kits" were sent to Corona for the new builders to practice on, and that couldn't have happened in '02, it had to have happened sometime in late '01.)
I don't know if any of those "practice" pieces actually got sold or if they actually started making "real production" '02's in Corona in late '01) but they were already producing in Tacoma by Feb '05.

Going by that s/n I'm guessing it's actually a very early one, even an '02, and it might even have a snakehead headstock carried over from the late late Westerly (post '97) D40's.
They got wide paddle style headstocks after the snakeheads got used up.
And it should say Corona on the label!
And even have a decal on the back of the headstock:

Made in 2002. Where it was made is written on the label as "Crafted in Corona, California USA".
And yes, Al is right, I saw S/N 239 still with the Fender decal on the back of the headstock. (But 239 had the regular headstock).
