The Peregrine I bought was in a gig bag and I would like to locate an original Custom Shop case for it.

Was the case for the S7CE made exclusively for that instrument or were there others that were the same fit?

Any advice on where and how to find an original case for this instrument?

Willy:

I've owned several Peregrines and Palomas over the years, and the cases are very difficult to find. The first Peregrine I bought (used) came with a gig bag, and I searched high and low for a case but to no avail. I took my Peregrine to GC to see if there was something in their inventory that would work as an adequate substitute, but could not find anything that it would fit.

I believe that TKL made the later (non-alligator-ish) cases for the Corona-produced Peregrines and Palomas, but I don't know if they made the earlier cases. You might try TKL's customer service and see what they can tell you.

You might also send Hans an email to see if he knows where one could be sourced.

I've never seen a Peregrine or Paloma case for sale by itself, but that doesn't mean they're not out there. Good luck in your search. If I come across one, I'll let you know.

Aren't those things just about the size of a Bluesbird? I notice what loos like "suspiciously
similar" body outlines between some of the electrics and the A/E's. Even down to the chambered solid body in the Peregrine. Ya gotta wonder....Maybe S4ce Songbird cases too.

Robby and Al,

Thanks for the advice, I did go to Guitar Center and picked up an SKB Les Paul case. It's a perfect fit all the way around and a great case. The body fit is snug, the neck rest sits on the neck just before the heel, and the crown of the headstock is about an inch clear of the end of the case. I like the cool factor of the original alligator case but the SKB will work great.

Robby, did you have any issues with the tone and volume controls on any of yours? They are not working on mine and I haven't had time to trace out the circuitry and see where the problem is. The sound comes through in both amp and PA systems and seems to be full power with no tone modification - like the tone and volume are bypassed or something.
