Neck reset on CV-1

New member here. I've been looking around the site for some info on removing and resetting the neck on a CV-1. At one time there were some pictures of the process in a couple of thread posts which showed the bolt-on neck assembly and step-by-step pics of removing and working with the neck. I had bookmarked them for later but was disappointed to see that they have disappeared. My guitar plays reasonably well, but I was wanting to adjust the neck a bit as it does have a slight angle, and I would feel better about looking at the process again before I take the neck off. Anyone have any info on this?

Although I'm an amateur at luthiery, I have done a couple of traditional neck resets (steaming, removing, sanding, etc.) and other repairs on other less expensive acoustic guitars. I've a got a good idea of what it entails. It never hurts to study up a bit before diving in. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

Welcome DR,

There have been several discussions on the Contemporary (CO & CV) series & their bolt on necks. One of the most comprehensive threads is this one, some 29 pages long http://letstalkguild.com/ltg/showth...d-Trainwreck-Neck/page12&highlight=trainwreck.

Starting on page 7 or 8 of the thread are some clear pictures of the internal workings of the CV neck. If you take the time to read the entire thread you'll get past the general frustration of having to do major tweaks on virtually brand new guitars & come across some useful input, .

Generally, I think, neck resets on Contemporary Series Guilds are relatively simple, neck set on my CO1, turned out nicely & was considerably less expensive than anticipated.
