...Right now there’s a 1981 212XL on Reverb that I’m tempted to make an offer on...

There must be something wrong with this JF30-12 (other than needing a truss rod cover) for only $529, but that burst is sure sweet. Might be worth a call to see what's up. Place is in NY.

Cougar !!
Thought I’d hear back from you.
Thanks.
I will call. We will be driving right by New Paltz, NY on I-87 later this month.

That's even farther into NY than the one mentioned somewhere in https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/wanted-f-512-12-string.202141/

(where this discussion started because 10 posts are needed to start a FS/FT thread).
Very True.
As the crow flies, Yonkers is closer to Virginia than New Paltz.
As we drive to Vermont, however, Yonkers is still a considerable detour (over the GW bridge) and New Paltz is just a whistle stop. Will have to see what else bubbles up before we hit the road. Already know the one in Yonkers has been there for at least 5 months. Don’t know much about the New Paltz JF30-12.

Well, you've got great taste, Balderdash! Those are all great choices.

The Guild 17" jumbo body is a bit of a beast, you know. Ergonomically, it's tough on some people. Having said that, the absolute #1 goto guitar in my collection is my F-512. To me, it's just the king of the collection. I have tried many other Guilds, though, and it's extremely rare that I encounter one that I *wouldn't* want to have!

Good luck in the hunt!

Must be a wonderful beast...
There’s another hint that backs you up.
Right now, on Reverb and GC, if you ”search“ for “Guild F-512”, all you get are the new posts. Not many folks are selling them. At least not right now.

I have a New Hartford F-412 and a F-512 both pretty great shape, in fact the F-512 still has the plastic cover on the pick guard.

I'd sell either as they are both case queens and get very little play....for which I blame Richard and that darned F-20.

PM if interested, but I'll be off line pretty much after mid morning Sunday until Monday morning.
