Howdy all.
Long-time Guild fan, owner of a Starfire III and BluesBird in addition to a DCE-3 I wish I had never sold.
Shoulda joined a long time ago, but anyway I'm finally here....
I was never very well-versed on the archtops.
Well, other than the brief flirtation I had with buying an X-160 Rockabilly when they came out.
Now I find hanging in a friend's store an X-180.
Info is scarce on this model.
I'm toying with buying the thing, it's in perfect shape and sounds lovely.
Anybody know anything about these?
A word search here on the forum yielded absolutely nothing.
I gather it was introduced after 2000, and made in limited numbers before Fender killed the electric line.
Natural Maple front, back & sides with gold hardware and humbuckers.
What models would it be most closely related to?
What are its closest brethren dimensionally speaking?
I'm guessing the pickups are made by Seymour Duncan?
Guitar is damned heavy for a box full of air.
Thanks in advance for any information you folks may have.
