Hi to all LTG fellow forum folk. I've checked this place out a few times; now I'm officially one of you.
A friend gave me a 1974 Guild D-40 a few years ago. It needed a little TLC since it hadn't been properly taken care of for quite a while. I had someone replace three or four frets near the nut , the tuning machines swiched to new Grovers, the sunken top was rehydrated, clamped and tourqued up very gradually, new bone nut and saddle, and Baggs i-mix electronics installed. It's got plenty of finish cracks, character dings, and battle scars, but it's also got some mighty fine Guild resurrection mojo that floods right out of that big hole in the top, and that my new found friends makes me very happy indeed.
