She's never admitted it, but I can do some pretty unwise things so I'm suspicious of the reason.

I just spent 1 1/2 hours mowing grass with a push mower (at least it has a self propel lever) in a heat index of 105. I was getting kinda hot but wanted to finish "this spot" and then "that spot". If the battery hadn't run out I probably wouldn't have stopped even though at that point I was starting to not feel well.

What makes even less sense is that is exactly the kind of thing I would tell anyone else not to try to do. I will say, though, I knew it was hot but didn't know the temp was that high until after I got inside and checked it online, while I ate my freezer pop. (They really can help cool off pretty fast.)

Yep, she musta dropped me on my head.

Dude, you gotta spin it better than that; ‘I don’t need any sissy power assist, I don’t care how hot it is!’

Smart to get the powered--batteries play out just before you do. A wise lady you are, Cynthia!

Right now, I don't have any grass that needs mowing. Burnt brown from drought conditions.

Push mower? Nope!
Riding mower died. Husband is saving up for a zero turn, but something had to be done in the meantime.

The self propel lever makes a world of difference! Straight pushing, and I would have abandoned any thoughts of grass cutting my first time out of the starting gate.

We are having one of the greenest Virginia summers I can recall.

Good thing I have no grass. Not one blade. Our small fenced yard is completely landscaped and mulched.

I gave my lawnmower away seven years ago when we moved in.

I finally broke down and bought a riding mover. 10% off military discount at Lowes plus a 150 buck Lowes gift certificate...an offer I couldn't refuse. Best money I've spent in a long time. Still have my self propelled push mower for a couple spots the rider can't get.

Finally broke down and got some nice gas cans for fuel storage...they are pretty awesome. 3 of these plus two metal safety cans. The only plastic fuel can I use is a one gallon for the weedeater.

I haven't had to mow much this year. The plodding , shelled , reptile lawn mowers have kept it mostly short enough.

I did the same thing FNG - bought a JD rider at Lowes with a 10% Vets discount. Otherwise, you don't get discounts on John Deeres.

Yep, read that a long time ago. The nozzles on plastic cans are so incredibly stupid that it became obvious that lawyers never have to use them. To any lawyers on the forum, sorry not sorry.

Plus I'm hoping the fuel will last longer in the metal cans.

Veer:

I did get dropped on my head, or rather, while my parents and I were waiting outside a restaurant to be seated, we were sitting on a stone wall. I was super young, like not even 2-3 years old, something like that. I fell off the wall and landed on my head. My folks brought me to hospital as they said they knew something was wrong. The first doctor looked me over and did some tests, and came back to tell my Mom I was going to die in 2-3 days from the fall. She of course was like, no, I will be getting a 2nd opinion...

2nd doctor says I fell and hit my head and I would be alright in the morning. She decided to go with that answer.

Which as you can see, was correct...
