My latest guitar maintenance tool…slick!

Not being real sure where to post this, I figured since it’s a tool this might be the right place. I don’t know how many of you take time to inspect the inside of your flat top guitars periodically, or check to see the ball ends of your stings are seated properly before tuning to pitch, or like to thoroughly check a guitar before buying it, but I do. It can be a challenge to get a mirror in a sound hole with the strings on unless it’s very small, and then there is the issue of the light. Well I found a neat 2” mirror on a telescoping handle, (6 ½” collapsed and 36” extended) with a flexible mount and an impressively bright white LED light connected to the mirror. For me it works really slick. And what I like about it over a flat mirror laying in the bottom of the guitar is that I can really see the back side of the braces at an angle almost flush with the sound board and tell if all the bonding is good and tight, or if there may be some small cracking going on anywhere from the inside. It’s from MAC Tools, part number MHTLM2, and I got mine for $16.99. If a mirror and a light is something you’re considering as part of your guitar maintenance kit, you may want to check one of these out. IMHO.
