Here are some pictures of my recently acquired Guild D50 (Westerly RI). She plays like a dream, love the rosewood and spruce tone woods. I do a little photography in my spare time, so I hope you enjoy some of these shots. God is good, have a blessed day.

Wow Evan you scored a beauty for sure, very clean. You should be able to pull some rich tones out of that guy! Also love the antique style burst👍

Beautiful Evan! Whoever in Westerly painted that teardrop burst did a great job.

I agree. It really is a true work of art. Was seriously looking at new made in USA Guilds, like the D40, and even at the Martin D28, but I know I made the right call going with the vintage Guild D50. It seems to me to be maybe the best rosewood dreadnaught out there, D55 as well.

By far my favorite style of burst. I love how it blends together with the pickguard at the top, with no light color popping through to distract, and then gradually opens up fully to the bottom so that it shows off the wood grain. I know it’s kind of geeking out on a dang paint job but I think it really enhances a guitar’s appeal when done so artfully.

Beautiful guitar and great shots. Not sure if I've seen a burst D50 before, because I don't remember being as envious as I am now. :p What year is it?

thanks man, and they’ve offered the tobacco burst as an alternative to the natural top, off and on I want to say, definitely throughout the 70’s & 80’s D50s. Mine is a 1986 model. Pretty cool aside- I actually have a copy of the Guild price list from 1986, fetched a pretty penny even back then 😅

The D50 is one I've never owned and always kind of wanted, and in that tobacco burst?......Well I'm jealous! Beautiful guitar. Man, you could camp out inside that tree.

right!? It’s a killer color name for it, and I love how it has “tobacco burst” handwritten on the label inside the sound-hole. And tell me about it! That’s one of the mighty live oak trees that we have down here in south Louisiana.

You mean you live down there with my Cajun brothers? Man, have I got some buddies down there. The Dugas, the Landrys, the Stelleys....a bunch of buddies I met during my work years. Cajun folks are so cool, if they don't like you, forget it, if they like you, they LOVE you and you never need a thing when you visit....friends for life. Enjoy that D50. I can see you now under the cypress trees, hanging Spanish moss, on the bayou, just a singin' away.
