I use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys on all my Les Paul scale guitars and Super Slinkys on my Strat scale guitars.

if it were a solid body i would use the 10's/regulation slinky. but for hollow/semi hollow, a big solid top like a SF-4...11's

i don't shred like GAD, though. what i lack in technical skill, i make up for in volume, and tone!

I like to pretend to shred. At best I can kind of tear. :)

For me it's just a matter of scale. I have so many guitars and I go through a lot of strings so I keep it to two. Helps me assess tone a bit when using the same strings everywhere, too.

What a find. Certainly get it set up and you will be elated. I also say Nickel wound regardless of string guage but I would start with 11-49. But I could see 10s if you do a lot of bending.
It looks really fine. Looks to be in fantastic shape.
