From the link to the Fretboard Journal, I came across this article on how purfling is constructed. Very cool! I always wondered how they created the strips of "herringbone" and "multi-colored mosaic" purfling. First they glue together a long block of laminates, and then they slice it into sections for they inlays. Of course! That's got to be easier than gluing it in piece by piece like a jigsaw puzzle. :stupid:
