My wife decided some years back that trying to ride a 1000 lb skittish animal that still thinks its a prey to some pack of wolves or lion, is not the most logical thing. Especially when it's surprised by a vicious beached yellow buoy that was there the whole time they were trotting up to it.

Those were the ""Krate" series of bikes by Schwinn.

My friend had a Cotton Picker. You had to slap the shift lever sideways to disengage it to move it forward and backwards to change gears. If you came to a sudden stop it could be painful. Therefore we used to call it "The Nut Cracker"!
Maybe for some but if you grew up with spam dinners and hotdog stew I can assure you the local Bennys had knock-offs available for purchase.

We both got our updated COVID booster AND our flu shots yesterday. What a rough night and today we both feel like crap!!:sick:
Tom,
I know exactly how you feel.
My wife and I were very ill with Covid in Feb. 2020 when it first appeared in Canada. Probably should have been hospitalized, but it was so new that we didn't make the connection and suffered at home for over two weeks.
Since then we each have had two vaccinations and two boosters, and after every one I came down with "mini-Covid" for up to three days. Not fun.
Hope you both feel better quickly.

@RBSinTo yes same but in December of 2020. We weren't even eligible for vaccination at that time. Three miserable weeks!! Since we've had 5 vaccinations. Much better than getting COVID, but not exactly fun since we felt just fine before!! I like to pride myself on having the original virus.... call me imperious!!

Tom,
When we got the first vaccination, I asked the Nurse if I would be able to play the guitar after getting the shot.
She said that as long as my arm wasn't sore or stiff, there wasn't any reason why not.
I replied that that was great news because I couldn't play it before.
(insert sound of rimshot, and cymbal)

If you look forward to weekends a little too much, and start dreading Monday on Saturday, particularly on Saturday morning, it's time to get out.

I had a job like that. I lasted about 9 months and bailed with nothing lined up. "Oh, what a feeling, Toyota!"
Before I retired, when folks would get excited about it being Friday, my response was always, "Friday is just three days closer to Monday. Looking back, "it was time."

Ha! I have you guys beat! Because I'm immunosuppressed, I have had the two Pfizer vaccine shots and 4 boosters. And a few months ago an Evusheld antibody injection - one in each cheek!

Luckily, none of these made me feel sick in any way at all. And I have not gotten COVID, although I am admittedly still pretty cautious with masking, etc. Flu shot in a few weeks.

Sigh...

The Fourth Law of Thermodynamics:
Systems tend towards disorder, until you call the facilities manager. Then everything works like it’s supposed to, so long as he keeps looking at it.
