Here is he recording for Library of Congress. He recorded an album in 1928, but it was such a flop, he went back to farming. They didn't find him again till 1963. That is crazy!

Hurt used a fast, syncopated fingerpicking style of guitar playing that he taught himself. He was influenced by few other musicians, among whom was an elderly, unrecorded blues singer from the area where he lived, Rufus Hanks, who played twelve-string guitar and harmonica. too bad we never heard Rufus Hanks music. he sounds incredible and maybe birthed an entire music movement and never knew.
