I didn't want this to stay in the other thread because it has nothing to do with Guild warranties.
I just got off the phone with Ron, from the Martin Factory.
I asked him about neck reset warranty.
He told me that every neck reset is looked at individually.
Why is the neck reset needed?
If it is from abuse or neglect, it isn't covered.
If it is due to time or a factory defect, it's covered.
Martins that are over 40 years old are looked at closer because these guitars may have not been properly taken care of like humidity issues etc.
These guitars are requested to be sent directly to Martin and not a Factory Authorised Dealer.
He also stated that a guitar over 40 years old may no longer be in the hands of the origonal owner. It may have been passed down to a family member, which isn't warrented.
I feel that after my conversation with Ron from Martin, there has not been a change in pollicy in reguard to neck resets.
You still have to be the origonal owner and the reason for a neck reset has to be from age or factory defect.
I feel better now.
