I've been getting into these Martin Custom Shop guitars lately. They make some beautiful pieces. I'm a real sucker for a nicely Bear Clawed Spruce top and the EIR grain on this one is pretty unusual. here's a couple pics. I'm not sure the Bear Clawing will show up great but you can get an idea anyway.

This one is a 14 fret Dreadnaught and it sounds pretty special.

Very nice, congrats! Does it have 1/4" bracing like a regular D-35? You might have to check the build sheet if it came with one. I had a Martin CEO-5 12-fret dread with a bear claw top. That guitar had a very sweet sound, but wasn't very loud for a dread.

Yes, 1/4" Sitka scalloped bracing. This thing is a beast and a tone monster. Likely sounds as good and is as loud as any guitar I own regardless of brand, although my F 50R won't take a back seat to any guitar really.

Very nice Richard. I love the bear claw! The back is unusual and very attraxtive. Almost looks like a walnut. Martin makes some rally outstanding guitars (and some duds). I tried a bunch before I bought my OM-28 and they can have some very lush overtones.

Gorgeous guitar. And I agree with GG - that bracing makes for a pretty powerful guitar.

Love me some bearclaw! Here's a detail of the top of my '97 Bourgeois Slope D-140.
