I don't get it. Never cared for the taste of beer. Those of you who do like it, did you like it right away or did you have to develop a taste for it?

Oh. I always liked it. Like espresso coffee or T-bone steak.

Gotta be ice cold, so cold it makes my belly cold.

So cold it makes my chest hurt!!

Saturday here it was 83 degrees and I was hauling rocks all day...yup fun stuff! Drank a lot of water all day but did not really eat after breakfast.

3:45, whistle blew, time to go watch the Masters

Took a can of PBR, poured into a mug from the freezer and took a good healthy gulp........love "earning" a beer!!

IPAs rock, but lager (Stella is good!) for quenching thirst.

Life's too short to be drinking s**tty beer though, Woody.... Toss the Bud.

I agree to some extent about life being to short but there are different applications to various "brews". Cheepie lagers do have a place

But any rice based beer I just cannot stomach...Bud products, Rolling Rock...blech!

Nice post, Jerry1. Yeah, we have 2 beer seasons in Michigan too - beer in the garage, or beer in the fridge.

Dread - if you were a yuper your song might be "Grandma Got Run Over By A Raindeer". Grandma was drinking eggnog, but there's a line in there like "grandpas taking it well, watching football, drinkin beer, and playing cards with uncle Mel." I always laugh at that line.

I liked Newcastle brown Ale, a decent stout you don't see in the stores anymore. What happened to all those imports, McEwans, Watney's Stingo, Sheaf?

Ages ago I discovered these Canadian beers made by Unibroue, maybe from listening to a lot of the The Tragically Hip, Trois Pistoles, Maudite, and more importantly La Fin Du Monde. When I was single some many years back, I have a very fond memory of riding to the top of a mountain to watch a lunar eclipse with a Fin Du Monde in hand, my BMW GS1000 faintly glowing in the background, just waiting for me to hop on and drive into the night.

Quilter's Irish Death I got a bottle of the other day to make a beer batter for Cod was actually one of the best dark beers I've had in a long time, in a bottle, thx.

Tonight it was Martinis, real dirty, Luksosova Polish potato Vodka, so much better than grain vodka, I don't care if it's filtered 10x.

A nice set up for a giant pork steak split between two, potatoes drenched in butter, broccoli on the side, all cooked on a wood cookstove.

Been a long week. So today I went up a ladder of cold brew. Started at the low rung with Bud Light. Hey, it’s kind of my standby and incredibly consistent.

Then to Stella.

Finally. Finishing with an IPA of sone sort. See it came free with the bud light purchase, and really, who am I to quabble with such a gift.

Can I say the IPA tastes the best? Oh dear.

Yes sir.
Here's my go-to--

Stella Artois is my beer of choice now.
Who cares how long either.

Just like cold beer.

I like an ice cold Stella too. I've been known to put a bottle in the freezer for 15 minutes to get it extra cold. I played in a band with a guy who was an IPA snob who studied and traveled throughout Belgium, and his take on Stella was, "It's the Budweiser of Belgian beer."

Don't know if you have it there but I've been drinking Founders' "Unraveled IPA" lately. A great thirst-quenching IPA.

Of course, we can go get it fresh at the main Founders brewery, just a few miles from here.At least we can now that the restautrants and bars have re-opened.
