Well, keep in mind that you probably could buy the guitar at 40% off, so that gets you 'way under $ 2000.00' very quickly. But MSRP is a different thing altogether.

According to the July 15, 1996 price list that I have, Bluesbirds (Black, TransRed, Cherry Sunburst and Amber) were only $1,699 with a hard case. That was the the first year they were available. What a great deal that was! I know the list price escalated quite rapidly in the years that followed.
