Yep, I noticed that one the other day Marc.....rare indeed. I wonder how that would compare? I've played a couple of flatbacks I wasn't overly impressed with and I don't think Graham is too impressed with his, and we all know how a spruce topped archback sounds, but what about a hog topped archback.....I've never played one?

My Guild D15 is solid mahogany top. Original bone nut and saddle and original grover tuners. Made in Westerly; date 1986. Despite what some folks have said about the D15M; it is definitely not a low-end Guild when it comes to sound IMHO. My father bought the guitar new. When I'm called to judgement it will go to one of my grandkids. And I'm certain it'll be just as wonderfully playable then as it is today.

I have one just like this (except mine is in better shape). I've played a few of the later spruce-tops and wasn't impressed. Every mahogany-top guitar I've played has a thick, warm sound I really love. I have no idea what effect the arched back has, but maybe that's why it's so loud. The tone is huge, and really roars out if you're not afraid to flog it. Like nothing I've ever heard. I'm the original owner of mine, and it is the only guitar I wouldn't part with. All I've ever done to it is replace the three-on-a-strip tuners with Grovers about 10 years ago. I had a friend offer to swap me straight across for his Guild D44NT; no thanks, though the 44 was real nice. The advertised one looks a little tired, but I didn't look real close. That's an incredible price. Those would be terrific guitars for bottleneck, too.

I'm pretty sure Mingus2112 has a D-25M archback. James?

I have a '77 D25ch (cherry colored instead of mahogany). Man what an awesome guitar it is! I know i'm months late on this thread, but it's a slow day at work and i'm catching up on my reading!
