Hi All,
I’ve been striking out on my search for a 12-string.
All the major online retailers are sold out. I’m hoping to get lucky and someone here has seen one locally
I would be happy if I found a pre owned one or a new one. I’m also not limited to just the recent ones. An older f512, f412, jf65-12, or jf30-12 would suit me just fine. As long as it’s blonde and maple. Prefer no electronics
Please show me what you got or have found

The maple 512 designation is so new I doubt you would find a used one. Look for 412.

@crank yep, I would love to get a new one. Guild customer service told me yesterday that all USA production was 10-12months behind. So my search is for a suitable blonde maple. I don’t think there are any bad choices from what other members are replying.

An older f512
HI Nitro, just for clarification, the old model number F512 is rosewood by definition, but I know Oxnard's model numbers are a bit confusing and they use the old model number with the "Maple" suffix instead of the old F412 model number so the proper term for a current (blonde) maple 12-er is "F512 Maple Blonde".

Might get better search results that way in case something pops up as available, and eliminate older rosewood 12-ers from the search too. https://guildguitars.com/g/f-512e-maple-in-blonde/

@Norrissey thanks for the tip.
I’ve got my contact in LA on it
I’ll keep you posted
That looks good, got a good feeling 'bout that one, good luck!

You asked earlier what to watch out for, with 12-ers of that age a very simple neck alignment check is a good idea, explained here:

A neck reset done right and including all the potential ancillary needs like a fret job and finish touchup, and set up, could easily top $1000.00 here in CA, just to give you an idea of why that's the single biggest potential repair cost, and why it's probably the single most important item to check.

@adorshki who’s THE guy for guild work?
$1k is a bargain compared with the pre war Martin guys.
I think the forum-wide consensus, if you're ok with shipping, is the previously mentioned Tom Jacobs in Florida, our member Fixit. Recall he was at Guild, in the '80's IIRC.

Universal 5-star quality and cost reviews here.

Of course maybe folks closer to you have their favorites. I think it's @Stuball48 who's close to your neck of the woods, or is @F312?
That'll alert 'em. ;)

I was just looking at your timeline. You joined LTG in search of a maple 12 and less than 36 hours later looks like you may have landed a beauty, thanks to the tip from Norrissey. Are the members here terrific or what?

You're very welcome @NitroExpress! I'm also crossing my fingers for you. Hopefully that JF30-12 is as good as it appears to be in the pictures.

Indecision is an awful thing!

But I sympathize — I love my JF30 12s! My first one was the first Guild I ever bought — it was my introduction to the brand.

One could even say it was my introduction to the brand--lifelong buddy got his new in '87, first year. Had wanted a Guild 12 ever since high school.

When my guitar was stolen in late '96, I decided I finally wanted to make the leap to a good guitar, but was experiencing sticker shock. That same buddy said "Y'oughta check out Guild, Fender just bought 'em".

I don't know if I'll ever be able to thank him enough. :D

Same here! Well, I've only got one, but it will NEVER be sold. Till I'm dead and gone anyway.
CL Seller contacted me and told me he changed his mind and wasn’t selling.
I thought it was priced a little high anyway -- WAY more than I paid for my Corona-built that's in near mint condition. Of course, that was then, this is now. The whole guitar market seems to be high nowadays.....
still on the lookout!!
Half the fun!
