Well then I definitely don't want the green Guild, the Mockingbird, or the SG!

What would your observations be about the playability, pickups, etc., if you compared and contrasted the S-90 and S-100's? Which one do you gig with? It would be cool to hear your comments while they are all sitting in front of us.
danerectal said:As far as basic feel barring any tone or tuner interference, the S-90 has a nice loose/buttery feel that I don't get out of the rest of them. The Red has a similar feel to the S-90, but a bit tighter. They feel progressively tighter by year, come to think of it.
Qvart said:How does the '76-C compare to the S-90? My '74-C has the "loose/buttery feel" like you describe above, the way my '72 S-90 does.
guildzilla said:Interesting observations, Dane. For the guitars with Guild humbuckers, pretty consistent tone package? Any nuances in tone?
danerectal said:There are a lot of variables between them (notwithstanding the pickups), which is how I justify owning all four of them.
Qvart said:Yeah, but remember we came up with at least EIGHT that would be necessary to have in order to represent the major variations!
dane said:From one Dane to another…nice collection! And thanks for the comparisons between them. I found that interesting. I can make room on the wall for another guitar…could be an S-100 may be in my future. 8)
Moving is an option! :wink:danerectal said:You won't be sorry. Though, then again you may. Especially if you can only make room for one.
