Hi folks,

Just received my first classical (a 1980 Mark III) via Ebay today that I'd love to show you all, but it appears the case is locked and won't open.

I'm wondering if any of you have experience with picking a case lock. This is one of those heavy duty Guild cases from that era with the original logo and blue lining (model 4500, perhaps?), so I'd rather not damage it if I don't have to.

I've already emailed the seller to see if he had any insight or tips (the case was open in the auction photos), but thought a post here might yield quicker results.

I'm a pretty patient person, but, as the song goes...the waiting is the hardest part.

Thanks in advance!

Here is what I always do....case unlocked?...good...throw keys far away..!

What do you know, there was a key inside after all. I hear what you're saying, but I think I hold on to this key for posterity.

Glad that worked out quickly.

When you can, please post about the guitar. I have a growing interest in the Guild Mark series.

Thanks Graham, will certainly do so. Think we can build enough interest for a category devoted to Guild classicals?

I do love my Mark IV

At the risk of being hollered at for not referring to "The Book" but also to encourage some more talk on the classicals, especially if anyone has more than one model, how would you describe the Mark series?

Anyone? Anyone?

I suggest locking it inside the case so that you do not loose it.
