Anybody know the list and dealer prices for a 1987 Mini-Manhattan X-170?

Thanks. I guess I got a pretty good deal for mine, then. 40% off guitar list and no additional charge for the case.

If you bought your guitar new in 1987 and got a 40% discount, I'd say you got an outstanding deal.

FWIW, I paid $1,115 (plus tax) in Feb. '87 for my F-44 and case from Sweetwater Music, now defunct, but back then the largest Guild dealer in central Ohio. Its 1986 suggested retail price was $1,350, plus $160 for the case.

Seems like the gap between MSRP and average retail prices has grown over the years.

Well, I bought it from dealer for whom I used to teach, and he gave me what he said was a good deal. As I said (or maybe only implied), that price included the case. I recently ran across the receipt for this guitar and a Peavey Bandit 75 I bought with it, and wondered how good the deal was.

Is that what the X-170 was named? I always thought it was just "Manhattan." But then again, wasn't the X-175 a Manhattan? I'm confused

Yes, 'Mini Manhattan' was the name when the model was introduced. The 'Mini' part was dropped after a couple of years.
