I found the Italian group, Lisa Beat e i Bugiardi (Lisa Beat and the Liars), doing a cover of the Yardbirds' tune For Your Love while I was looking at Jeff Beck stuff. It was a very fun cover which lifted footage from the 1960s Monica Vitti comedy movie, La Raggaza con la Pistola, for its video.

I did not realize initially that the group is a contemporary thing, working now. They are.

I have spent some time down this rabbit hole now, and I like it. It takes me back to a time when pop/rock music was fun. It bears some superficial similarity to New Wave stuff, like early Elvis Costello and the Attractions, but less bitter. It's just fun, fun, fun.

It makes want to head on over to DuoLingo and brush up and level up my minimal Italian.

I now wish that I had not tossed the Vox Jaguar organ that a friend left at my house when I was a kid and did not want back. Nobody else wanted it, either. It went to the dump.

Great bass part in the For Your Love cover.
