Hi All
I came across this little gal playing classical standards and some more contemporary stuff.
What do you think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H36vL3MzQDU

From some of the commentaries, I gathered that she started playing around the age of 11 or 12 and is now 14 in these videos.
Her playing is as flawless as anybody I've ever seen and she is playing some of the hardest stuff out there.

For something more exotic, try the Koyunbaba video.
She has a lot of videos and they are all equaly flawless not to mention memorized.

Where does all this instant talent come from?
All I know for sure is that I'm always in the wrong line when all the cool stuff is getting handed out.

Doesn't it just fry your gourd?

Here are these young kids, so gifted that it seems like they are from another planet. Please understand, I hold these kids in the absolute highest guitar player esteem. But don't you just want to slap 'em? :D
It just isn't fair to the rest of us old struggling hacks! They are setting the bar higher and higher. This world with all of its' troubles and trials is also spawning some of the most incredible young musicians ever. God bless 'em and may it always continue.

:) Nicely put Grant. You can listen and be inspired to quit, or inspired to play....................but it sure is inspiring either way. Man, she's awesome.

Geesh, I gotta go clean my glasses. I think she has eleven fingers on each hand. At that age, I was struggling with "Theme from Peter Gunn".

Hi Guys
Thanks for the responses.
I sort of feel that these kids are beamed in from outer space to make the rest of us look like Neanderthals.
I thought I was cool doing the theme from Bonanza at the same age Li Jie is pulling off Paganini and all those other classic guys.

And of course its not just guitar.
Remember Tiny Tim with his dorky ukulele doing Tip Toe Through The Tulips? One of those songs that takes some serious Hendricks or Clapton to get out of your brain?
Check out this guy playing his Uke with Tommy Emmanuel.

Have you guys checked out anything by Richard Smith yet? Another one of those "Wunderkinders". Played perfect Chet Atkins at the age of 11 with Chet back in 1982 or so. See a "Young Richard Smith" or later with his brothers in the "Richard Smith Trio" with songs like "Alabama Jubilee" or even more current , a beautiful original I'd love to have the music for called, "Lullaby for Madeline".

Its so cool actually seeing favorite players past and present for a change instead of just hearing a record. All those missed concerts.
I've only lately discovered this Youtube thing so hope you'll forgive any unsolicited excuberance.
