I always liked his Bird on a Wire song. So mournful and quite beautiful.

Until I heard him sing Alleluia, I never heard of him. I guess that is because he mainly worked in Canada and Europe. I looked him up on Wikipedia and he is quite an accomplished musician, writer, poet etc. His "Wikipedia" has got to be the longest I have ever read. Stop if you've heard this before, but his friend and manager cleaned him out.

Thanks for posting this. Leonard Cohen has been a favorite of mine for a long time. When Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for poetry, I thought it should have gone to Cohen.

It is really quite impressive how he kept his performing and writing chops into old age. What an inspiration!

I've been been doing "Tower of Song" as part of my set list recently.
Always liked his observation: "There is a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in."
