So, dear members.......

1. If any of yours has a viewpoint on the change of headstock on late 80´s Guilds continuing throughout the 90´s...please give me your opinion:)

2. Does anyone of you have an experience of Corona-built and consequently fenderized all-hog D-25´s? - please let me know...

Hi Jens. I have a Corona D25. Its white, which is my first non-natural finish. But she sings, and plays like butter. It has the larger headstock which is fine and I like it , the only thing is its length from top to bottom may be a tight fit in dread. cases. It has an thinner saddle than the vintage Guilds, but the intonation seems right on. It has a full sound that I really like, nice full bass, with the mahogony top. The only distratrion is on the headstock where it was hung on a rubber covered hanger, and the paint is kind of missing where the hanger touched it. Otherwise it sings, and plays as well as any Guild I've played, and I have a 77 F50, as well as a couple of others.

Hopes this helps. The Corona Guilds are real Guilds, for sure. Steffan :D

Well from my point of view I totally dislike the smaller headstocks on Guilds between late eighties and into the Nineties, altough 2 of my 5 Guilds have that smaller headstock.
In case of the 1987 D50 every time I look at it,beautiful as it is with that alluring amber coloured finish aquired in 22 years,It still annoys my sight and bugs my aesthetic criteria that small different shaped headstock!!! I just can't stand it...
On the electric 2000 Blues 90 it appears a little bigger and it fits the style of the guitar better.
But I realize that probably I'm not the one to ask an opinion on this subject because one of the visual things that I like the most about Guilds is actually that traditional big headstock with the chesterfield logo,so elegant, well shaped and distinctive.
I guess the main reason they introduced those smaller headstocks was to better balance the guitars and to reduce weight, but surely there were better ways to do that.
I was so glad when I saw the new Tacoma Guilds sporting the old style big headstocks again, even if, to tell the truth, the perloid inlays of the logo on the Tacoma Guilds I happened to see in person and in pictures are too "white" without that mother of pearl appearence they used to have.

My Corona also has the big headstock which I also prefer, Just seems like part of the Guild heritage. :) Steffan
