And to this day they STILL can’t figure out the value of the phase switch. No phase switch = not an S-100. It might as well be a les paul with a bolt-on neck, that’s how off the mark it is.

1970 called. It begs to differ. :tongue-new:
Hey Kent, I bought a later version with the full sized HB-1s from forum member hagmeat. It's not quite as good as the one I bought from you (the black '77) but it's a solid guitar. The repro HB-1s are pretty good but I think vintage HB-1s are better (I put a vintage bridge HB-1 in the guitar). Sounds a bit brighter than my other S-100s, probably due to the heavier wood, but it certainly fills a useful sonic space in the arsenal. The upside is that the neck carve, with a full 1 11/16" width at the nut, is probably the most comfortable for me out of all of my S-100s.Just my opinion, but the first batch of Newark Street S-100s sounded like total garbage. I was stoked to buy one of the first ones in Santa Monica and left the store absolutely furious that guild could mess up that guitar so horribly.
?4004 bass?
I thought maybe he was asking about the bass Krysh is playing in the video, but since you can clearly see the four-on-a-side tuners, that wouldn't be a viable question.
Ah yes! Thank you Michael! The Bass is a 4 String Pilot that belongs to Kim Keller
Here's a little video from LMG II where Bluespicky takes my S-200 out for a spin. Holding down the bottom end is Krysh on bass!
Video blurry to me. Thought it was a 4004. Hard to see. Headstock not clear in my viewfinder.
Hans probably does but I'm not sure he's tellin'!Does anybody have an idea how many s200's were built?
Actually, I do not know! But it is true that I don't like to give a seller 'ammunition' to jack up the price of a rare instrument. I feel that you only deserve it when you've done the research yourself.Hans probably does but I'm not sure he's tellin'!
